2022 Scholarship Awardee

Zainah Siddiqi

I am a senior at UT Austin with a major in Biochemistry and a minor in Studio Art. I particularly enjoy exploring new mediums and finding the endless possibilities when it comes to creating and expressing oneself. I have dabbled in graphite, charcoal, oil painting, ceramics, and printmaking. For this Summer, I have earned a position as an intern at Flatbed Press in Austin, Texas. I am looking forward to working with professional artists in this community to further my experience in woodcut and learn lithography. The team aspect of my internship will teach me how to communicate well in a medical setting and carving is similar to surgical procedures (the idea that each cut is permanent and will show).
